Hardwax Oil Natural is not a complete finish in its own right and should either be treated with 2 coats of Hardwax Oil Ultra Clear or should applied as 2 coats over Spruce Colour tone. Once again the washing up liquid had managed to leave a slight greenish mark on the surface, taking away some of the finish's colour. As the one of the only finish that we tested that was not a hardwax oil, it was interesting to see how it compared to the rest. Gallon 65 fl oz (10 L) will cover approximately 200m² in one coat / 120m² in two coats depending in the timber and method of application. Use a brush or roller to evenly apply the Treatex Exterior Oils, moving in the same direction as the wood grain. If possible apply the first coat to all sides of the wood before installation, paying particular attention to any end grain. Apply liberally on the end grain to fully seal.
