In between the two main light sources you will find two small LED lights enhanced with a small red dot in the middle: these LED lights provide you with red light. HC68 uses a unibody TIR lens system and is equipped with 2 Luminus SST-40-W LEDs (primary white light), with a 150 ° degree Truevision wide angle flood beam covering the entire field of view at a 180 ° tilt to offer maximum control, and 2 auxiliary red light LEDs. The special, blinky modes should have been left out of a headlamp that already has alot on it’s plate. hours at least before ramping down to almost nothing – I let them run for a while longer and then stopped the runs. On the inside is a silicone strip that will aid in keeping the Nitecore HC68 headlamp in place on your head. There’s three switches on the HC68 – one on the side (power), and two on top for adjusting the brightness/spot/flood/cycling through aux modes.The curved piece at the front is fairly hard so as to keep the headlamp in place, but the band itself weaves through that piece, so there’s minimal contact with your head from that. The threads and o-rings for the battery cap and switch/charging cover are satisfyingly smooth with a bit of resistance and feel sealed the internal components are well protected from water and dirt. For the lumen measurements, I won’t be doing the 10-minute measurements on Ultralow and Low – it stands to reason that they’re going to be the same as turn-on, or perhaps only a fraction lower than that.
