Description

The Power Pumping button will light up to show you which phase you are in, you also can see a live countdown of each phase which is shown below the battery light. The Ardo Alyssa is a breast pump with phenomenal and revolutionary features that I wish more pumps had.

It’s so easy to assemble, and even includes how to videos that are easy to access on how to assemble your pump! comfortable? I don’t know if I can ever say pumping is comfortable, but I only use it at a 3-4 level (out of 8) vacuum level and I’m never sore. Part of that has to do with the ability to customize suction and frequency separately Please note in regard to suction power/mmHg: In the US, the FDA apparently makes many pump companies to list their mmHg as less than 300 for some reason. For example, the Spectra S1 and S2 are listed as 270mmHg, whereas in Australia they are listed as 320mmHg. This is something to be aware of. I would also say be wary of a pump that does not openly advertise the mmHg.* Ardo Alyssa: The bottom line It is a one-hour pre-set programme that consists of 20 minutes of pumping, a 10-minute pause, 10 minutes of pumping, another 10-minute pause, and finally, 10 minutes of pumping. It is visually clear and uses bars to indicate increase or decrease in cycle or vacuum as opposed to numbers. (This could be preferred by some. Personally, I prefer some numbers and some visuals.) What’s in the box?

There is also a convenient memory plus feature button that actually saves your pumping history. This feature makes it so convenient and easy, since I forget so much these days, with so much on my plate. it’s fairly quiet. I mean, it’s not silent, but compared with some other pumps it’s much quieter. You can hear it in the video How to use the Power Pumping feature– first switch on the Ardo Alyssa, then tap the automatic Power Pumping button. there’s a slight learning curve if you’ve never used an Ardo pump, but the manual and tips are super helpful! Just remember that you need to press and hold over the buttons to turn them on/off When should I Power Pump? – You may do this once a day to stimulate the milk supply. Power Pumping is generally a short-term measure to help increase your milk supply. It may take a few days or more to notice an increase in supply.

Power Pumping can help in any situation where you might need to increase milk supply, for example, latching issues, a premature baby, or medical complications. We used a noise meter in our lab tests to measure the volume for each breast pump set at the highest setting and pressed against the skin. While our mom testers were split right down the middle, reporting that the breast pump was either very quiet or somewhat loud, the Ardo Calypso Double Plus Breastpump is actually one of the quietest pumps we've tested (and we've tested most available in Canada). All but one parent tester reported that they were able to comfortably pump in the same room as a sleeping baby or partner without waking them up. First off, this pump is a complete game changer! It’s innovative technology and features are what makes it stand out. What’s even more exciting and amazing is how this pump has a power pumping feature like no other! If you are new or seasoned in your breastfeeding journey, Ardo’s Alyssa has everything you need, especially if you find yourself in a cluster feeding period. As Mommy of five previous and new exclusively breastfed munchkins, I have finally found a pump that doesn’t leave me feeling like ran a marathon!

Also, on a side note, the clear aesthetic makes it so satisfying to watch your milk flow into the bottles. I learned so much more about my let-downs (plural!) during pumping than I knew before. I would highly recommend this pump.

This is absolutely the best pump I’ve ever used. Within just two days, I noticed a huge increase in the amount I was able to pump (I was six weeks postpartum and was pumping about 3 ounces maximum, but this went up to seven ounces!) This was without even using the power pumping feature, which I tried out to boost my evening milk supply. My baby was fussy and hungry every hour in the evenings for a while making me think my milk supply was low – I used the power pumping feature for three nights at 6pm and noticed a huge difference even between the three days. It has been two weeks and my supply is still plentiful at night! First things first, y’all, this thing has a power pump cycle, like what!?🙀 As a milk donor, I rely on a lot of power pumping. Typically 3-4xs a week. Guess what I forget a LOT during those times? Where in the power pump cycle I am. Not anymore! This pump takes all guess work out of power pumping, all YOU do is press a button! I think the think I really appreciate is that it seems like it was made with moms in mind using new technology.

The touchpad is not very sensitive, so I would often have to change settings or use the power button with the MyArdo on my phone as the buttons wouldn’t respond well. The Alyssa's compact size and USB rechargeable integrated battery allow for maximum mobility, meaning the breastpump can be used anywhere, at any time. It also has an automated power pumping feature which you can initiate through the app and the touchpad. It is the first pump to have this feature. This could be great for occasional pumpers if they need help increasing their supply. The Alyssa is a compact, wireless, portable, cordless, and rechargeable modern breast pump. It is an efficient, high-quality, medical standard device, with a user-friendly and intuitive interface. suction power and frequency are totally customizable. As with other Ardo pumps you can change them independently. For example, I like pumping at the same frequency as stimulation mode but with more suction than during stimulation mode.

The only negative I have is the power button. I without a doubt accidentally turn the pump on every time I move it. I need to train myself to hold the pump differently. The buttons are a touch and hold which took a second to figure out but I love knowing that it won’t turn on accidentally in my bag. That’s not to say I love everything about this pump. It’s a little bit noisy, the buttons can be either really sensitive or don’t work at times, and there’s no way to manually program the pump in the app – you have to run an actual pumping session and then save it to the memory. That means there are always a few annoying seconds at the beginning of my programmed settings where I was adjusting the pump, instead of it doing exactly what I want every time. If you’d like to save a new Memory Plus session, press the ‘save’ icon, which looks like a floppy disc/the symbol on Microsoft Word. Alyssa has an app that connects to and controls the breast pump from your phone via Bluetooth called MyArdo. Through the app, you can turn on the pump, use the Memory Plus setting, change the mode, cycle and vacuum settings.I had no idea what to look for when first choosing my pump but 2 kids in…here are my personal pump must-haves! My Ardo Alyssa pump has all of these & has worked wonders with both my supply and experience of pumping 2nd time around. Hope these help! Make sure it’s hands-free! I am never “just” pumping. Whether it’s meal prep, working, getting ready for an evening out, tidying etc etc, simply being able to move around whilst pumping is in my opinion non-negotiable if you want pumping to become a part of your daily routine rather than it commanding your hours. When it came time to remove filled bottles from the pump, our parent testers had no problems detaching them without spilling any milk, and a double bottle holder helps prevent accidentally tipping them over. While the Calypso comes with caps for the bottles, Ardo doesn't make nipples for feeding. However, Ardo bottles are compatible with Dr. Brown's standard nipples. One of the things our editors like about these bottles is the markings are raised plastic, so they're not going to rub or scratch off with long-term use. The pump is designed to not lose vacuum strength when double pumping 🙌🏼 and It has a great range of vacuum strength. At the end of each pumping interval, the breast pump will beep, & the 10-minute pause period begins. At the end of the pause the breast pump beeps again, you then need to activate the Power Pumping again by pressing the power pumping button to continue the programme.
