Still, that’s exactly what’s going on at UK supermarket Morrisons – which has revealed it is selling a special Easter-themed pizza in honour of this year’s festive holiday. Manchester’s Higher Ground has just scooped yet another accolade, and has been awarded a Bib Gourmand by Michelin.

The only issue is this Morrison’s The Best Katsu Chicken Curry Pizza didn’t feel Japanese to me at all. Nuttela-topped pizzas are extremely common in Italy and often come topped with additional extras like sliced banana or strawberries, but Morrisons has taken things one step further in what can only be described as a truly British fashion. The Michelin Guide’s entry for Higher Ground reads: “In the heart of the city, not far from Piccadilly Gardens, three friends are making serious waves in the Manchester food scene. A deep dish pizza base topped with katsu style curry sauce, mozzarella cheese, seasoned cooked chicken, deep-fried onions and red peppers. it was spicy ,like red chilli peppers plus seeds a over spicy and because the seeds were mixed in it made it hard to remove them.Loaded with chocolate buttons and Cadbury’s mini eggs, chunks of chocolate chip cookie dough and cream cheese, the supermarket’s sickly sweet 10-inch dessert pizza special is back by popular demand.

Katsu Curry is one of my favourite Japanese foods, and pizza is my favourite take-away, so this sounded like it was made for me.
