From both Julianne and Gabriel’s exes, to the jealousy of colleagues and former friends, threats to Gabriel, Julianne and their daughter Clare force Gabriel to take drastic measures to protect the woman and child he loves. I was completely absorbed from the first book than I came across and ever since – HOOKED completely. Gabriel and Julia are learning to navigate life as new parents while still pursuing their academic and career goals. I was so excited to read the continued story of Professor Gabriel and his Beatrice Julia but what a big disappointment this book was.

My favourite stories are those in which a character takes a journey, either a physical journey to a new and exciting place, or a personal journey in which he or she learns something about himself/herself. We are invited as guests of honor to have an up-close and personal look at how their lives change after the birth of their Princess, Clare. But his family comes first, in all matters of the heart and our hero is willing to walk away from his career to protect the people he loves. The book ends with possibilities of more novels in the series but i think it might be time to leave things be. Moreover, all that unnecessary drama that was brought on just for the sake of the drama made this novel look cheap in comparison with the perfection that were first three books. Backstory information was sprinkled throughout to connect peripheral characters from the previous books. Aside from the love story, there are a number of obstacles the two face in this book regarding their careers, as well as some more risky threats. As if I could not adore him more, he had me absolutely swooning throughout this entire read as my Gabriel had not lost a bit of his intensity, his penchant for high heels, public displays of affection, and raw sexual magnetism.

But they will soon learn that Julianne is as strong as she is brilliant, and she won’t allow anything separate her from her heart and soul. Truly melt by the end of the book you are just a pile of goo from all the sweet and precious moments between Gabriel and Clare. I am in love with the writing, with the story and the characters, the way the plot is created and the way the reader is involved in the action.I always open the pages to a Sylvain Reynard’s novel with such excitement, what makes Gabriel’s Promise even more delightful is knowing you are re-entering the world of much-loved characters to the Gabriel Series in this, the fourth novel. After finishing Gabriel’s Promise there were some questions and pieces that I would love to see tied up. I'm not really sure how I feel about this one, I love the characters and the story wasn't bad but I felt like something was missing.

I really enjoyed listening to this wonderful story, Julianne and Gabriel are exactly like I remember them. You see that more stories can occur but if they do not it’s okay because Gabriel, Julia and their family are in a good place. Julia has this way of giving in to Gabriel while somehow, still getting her own way, and there is no doubt of his dedication to her.I don't understand why the author bothered to introduce new situations for the characters to go through if most of them are never resolved. Julia has a few concerns of her own after having the baby and she hopes they disappear before she has to tell Gabriel. When I saw that there was another book coming out about Professor Gabriel Emerson, I knew I had to read it.
