Don't dilute this acrylic medium with water or try to speed up the drying time as this may result in less or no cracking.

In general, the Mont Marte crackle paste works better on larger areas because the paste has more surface area to shrink back to and ‘crackle’. Cracklé effect is coming out after 4-6 hours; if drying with hairdryer the Step 2 sets in 10 minutes.This medium is opaque, so can't be applied over the top of existing work to give it a crackled appearance. Watercolour isn’t really ideal for crackle paste as the paper that you’re using wouldn’t be strong enough to hold the thick paste.
