Four years after the events at Lockwood Manor, several Quetzalcoatlus were seen nesting on top of skyscrapers and migrating alongside modern birds and other pterosaurs. They haven’t been set free yet–I’m looking for display stands if anyone can point me in the right direction– but they are up to par and by far, the best Quetz toy yet in any of the Jurassic lines. Then, take it to the next level and bring dinosaurs into our world through AR -- make the dinosaur appear in any room. The body is primarily gray, but the plastic used for the body is marbled with random streaks of black distributed about. During a flashback of the Cretaceous, four Quetzalcoatlus landed near a group of Pteranodons while one of them was scavenging the carcass of an unknown animal. The cool aeroplane toy has space for all 3 minifigures in its cockpit, plus spinning propellers, opening cargo hold and engines designed to break off under attack by the posable Quetzalcoatlus figure (the engines reattach easily). It was thought to live in semi-arid areas with no indications of large bodies of water near their fossil sites.Given their size you'll need several Aviary buildings to meet their spatial requirements, but they can get along with other flying reptiles they share a territory with. With Mattel toys I try not to dwell on accuracy too much, but this Quetzalcoatlus does strike me as being one of their better efforts. Overall, the Mattel Quetzalcoatlus is a big, fun, nicely sculpted AND painted, surprisingly accurate toy that has proven to be an improvement on its predecessor, and more accessible too.

The decoders offer great value and will allow me to convert my DC locos to DCC at a reasonable cost. Quetzalcoatlus is estimated to have had a 36’ (11 meter) wingspan so scaling down that width we get a scale of 1/27 for the Mattel toy.

Each Massive Action figure comes in an impressive size, approximately 36 cm wide, and has a dramatic attack motion special to the dinosaur species. Of course, Mattel had already released a Quetzalcoatlus a few years ago, one that I had reserved for review but alas, thanks to its rarity I was never able to acquire. Another theory suggests that it hunted fish like modern skimmers, flying over the water and scooping them up with its bottom jaw, though this one was disproven due to how inefficient it would be for such a large animal due to energy consumption and drag.

Quetzalcoatlus lived in the southern states of the USA around 66-72 million years ago and coexisted with with a range of other pterosaurs including Javelinadactylus as well as many dinosaurs such as Triceratops, Alamosaurus and the fearsome Tyrannosaurus. Named after the Aztec feathered serpent god, Quetzalcoatl, the first fossils of this feathered flier were discovered in Texas in 1971 by geology student Douglas Lawson. It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control them. Dramatic dinosaur action play is inevitable with these figures with more control over their action with an increased range of motion. The toy plane features a cockpit with space for the 3 included LEGO minifigures: Owen Grady, Claire Dearing and Kayla Watts.

I agree that this is one of my favorite Mattel/JW toys so far, and this species’ inclusion looks like one of the best elements to the upcoming film. The specimen found there was believed to have had a massive wingspan, and later estimates have concluded that Quetzalcoatlus could have been the size of a Cessna light aircraft whilst in flight, or the size of a giraffe when walking on the ground.

Like the real animal, they are covered in pycnofibers, which are light grey, with a tuft of black pycnofibers on the back of the head. Imagine a bird-like creature with a 36-foot wingspan, a massive beak, and fierce talons soaring through the skies above you! Indeed, the shot in the prologue of the pycnofiber clad Quetzalcoatlus gliding in amongst the smaller pterosaurs, with its contemporaries quadrupedally wading in the background, was just as breathtaking as any Spielbergian moment the original Jurassic Park had to offer. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others.Their diet will consist of fish, but escaped Quetzalcoatlus may also try to eat unsuspecting smaller dinosaurs (or maybe a guest or two).
